Physics of Complex Fluids, Solids and Active Matter

Welcome to Xiaolei's homepage!

I am a postdoc at Yale University. My research is focused on the nonequilibrium dynamics of multiscale phenomena in soft condensed matter, fluid mechanics, active matter, granular materials and geophysics.
I received my bachelor's degree in physics from Northwest University, China, in 2013. After that, I went to Emory University to study soft matter physics and fluid dynamics under the guideness of Justin Burton, and earned my Ph.D. in physics in 2019. I am passionate about uncovering the physical foundations of emergent phenomena in nonequilibrium systems, with the ultimate goal of connecting fundamental research to real-world applications.
