Physics of Complex Fluids, Solids and Active Matter

Welcome to Xiaolei's homepage!

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University, and my research is focused on the nonequilibrium dynamics of multiscale phenomena in soft condensed matter, fluid mechanics, active matter, granular materials, and geophysics.
I received my B.S. degree in Physics from Northwest University in 2013. I then joined Emory University to study soft matter physics and fluid dynamics under the supervision of Justin Burton, and earned my Ph.D. in physics in 2019. My research is driven by a passion for uncovering the physical principles underlying emergent phenomena in nonequilibrium systems, with the goal of bridging fundamental science and real-world applications.
