Physics of Complex Fluids, Solids and Active Matter
Welcome to Xiaolei's homepage!
I am a postdoc at University of Minnesota. My research is focused on the nonequilibrium dynamics of multiscale phenomena in soft condensed matter physics & soft materials, fluid mechanics, active matter, fracture & elastic mechanics, geophysics, & biomechanics.
I obtained my bachelor's degree in physics from Northwest University, China, in 2013, where I mainly worked on wetting and drying. Then I headed to Emory University to continue the research on soft condensed matter and fluid mechanics working with Justin Burton, and got my Ph.D. degree in physics in 2019. I am always excited to explore the physical underpinnings of the emergent phenomena in nonequilibrium systems with an intention to bridge fundamental research and practical applications.
