Physics of Complex Fluids, Solids and Active Matter

Welcome to Xiaolei's homepage!

I am a postdoc at Yale University. My research is focused on the nonequilibrium dynamics of multiscale phenomena in soft condensed matter physics & soft materials, fluid mechanics, active matter, fracture & elasticity, geophysics, & biomechanics.
I completed my bachelor's degree in physics from Northwest University, China, in 2013. Then I headed to Emory University to work on soft matter physics and fluid mechanics with Justin Burton, and earned my Ph.D. degree in physics in 2019. I am always excited to explore the physical underpinnings of the emergent phenomena in nonequilibrium systems with an intention to bridge fundamental research and applications.
